Importing ASCII data onto Leica survey equipment
All Leica Geosystems instruments are able to absorb ASCII data, such as .txt and .csv files.
Because the data is space/comma/colon delimited, the kit can break up the information into the correct columns.
The standard format is 5 columns – Pt Id / Easting / Northing / Height / Code
Ensure that the spreadsheet is saved as a CSV (Comma delimited) file.
This can then be imported into Leica Geo Systems (via Import & ASCII data) or ‘pasted’ into the DATA folder on a memory card to be imported onto an instrument (TPS/GPS).
